Carpet tile

Carpet tiles are colorful, fun, and you can unleash your creativity by mixing and matching them. Also referred to as carpet squares, they are available in 18 X 18 and 24 X 24 sizes and come in squares. Carpet tiles also come in various fibers, including nylon, polyester, olefin (polypropylene), Triexta, and wool.  Although they've been a staple in hotels, bars, restaurants, and other commercial/hospitality spaces, carpet tiles are now showing up in play, family and game rooms, and basements, making them just as popular for the home as the office space. Like broadloom carpeting, new technologies (especially with dyes) create even more colors and patterns. After learning of the benefits, you might decide they're suitable for your installation. 

Carpet squares are ultra-fast and easy to install since they require less cutting. Since they're small, they're also easier to move and lift, making them easier to remove. Great news if you're moving and want to take them with you, or if you're going to transport them to another room in the house. Easy removal also makes them especially ideal for commercial facilities since it's not unusual for technicians to require access to underfloor cables. Finally, if only some get damaged, you need to replace those tiles, not the entire rug. 

The squares provide the same level of comfort and warmth to a room as a traditional rug. They also reduce noise, and while there's no clear distinction between residential and commercial carpet tiles, their layered structure makes them more effective in absorbing vibrations. This makes them a good solution for busy call centers, large, open office layouts, and crowded restaurants.  

That layered construction also makes them more water-resistant than broadloom, a benefit, especially for basement apartments. They are also mold-and-mildew resistant, and they're very durable, especially since they're available in so many different fibers. Because of all this, you can use them either indoors or outside.
